- WHAT ARE SWEDISH BITTERS
Swedish Bitters (also known as Swedish tincture) is a powerful and bitter traditional herbal tonic. It has been told that this formula was created by the great polymath Paracelsus during the 16th century.During the 18th century, the formula was said to have been rediscovered by Swedish medics Dr. Klaust Samst and Dr. Urban Hjärne. In modern times, Swedish Bitters was popularized once more by reknowned Austrian herbalist, Maria Treben.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE GREAT SWEDISH BITTERS AND SMALL SWEDISH BITTERS
Unbeknownst to some, there are two types of Swedish Bitters: the Traditional Great Swedish Bitters and Small Swedish Bitters. The Small Swedish Bitters was used frequently in Maria Treben’s practice. The main differences between both bitters are the number of ingredients and the carrier solutions used. Greater Swedish Bitters contains 22 ingredients whereas Smaller Swedish Bitters contains 11.
