Astragalus root comes from a perennial plant that is found across much of northern China and Mongolia. The herb is a staple of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), where it has been used for centuries as a superior tonic.
Directions
To prepare as a tea, combine 1 oz. root with 1 pint cold water in a non-reactive pot. (Let soak for up to 12 hours for greatest benefit.) Cover, bring to a boil, then simmer for 20 minutes, or up to 8 hours. Strain and enjoy. Refrigerate any remaining tea for up to 48 hours.
